Highlights of a success story
1974 - A patent und know-how-contract between Reifenhäuser and WTZ Technische Textilien Dresden(the predecessor of STFI) was signed, which was the basis for the REICOFIL® Process
1976 - First spunbond labline
To acquire the know-how necessary for commercial utilization of the process.
1985 - First spunbond line featuring the new
REICOFIL® systemThe first line using the REICOFIL® process was intruduced into the Reifenhäuser product range, to manufacture thermo-bonded nonwoven fabric made of polypropylene.
1989 - Commissioning of the first REICOFIL® meltblown-line, net working width 3,2 m
Acquiring the exclusive rights at the Exxon meltblown patent, Reifenhäuser extended its nonwoven product range.
1992 - Commissioning of the first composite line featuring the new REICOFIL®-2 technology
Improved guiding of the process air resulted in higher fibre speeds, better tensiles and allowed the manufacturing of lighter grammages.
1997 - Next generation of the REICOFIL®-system: REICOFIL® 3
Further development of the REICOFIL®-system, to feature modified stretching channel geometry and modified pressure specifications for the cooling system, lead to the REICOFIL®-3 technique, intruduced in 1997.
2002 - Introduction of the REICOFIL®-4 Technology
The REICOFIL® 4 process represents the consistent development of the REICOFIL® System. Separating process- and stretching air results in higher throughputs at better control of process parameters.
