| Biax-Fiberfilm and REICOFIL combine their developments and capacities for meltblown lines |
On Wednesday, February 3rd, the Troisdorf-based German company Reifenhäuser REICOFIL and the Greenville, WI-based US-American company Biax-Fiberfilm signed a cooperation agreement for meltblown lines. |
Under the agreement, REICOFIL shall have the exclusive right to integrate the Biax technology in their spunmelt lines and distribute standalone systems lines in Europe, South America and Africa. Biax-Fiberfilm, jointly with its distribution partners, shall be responsible for selling standalone meltblown lines in the USA and Far East.
The primary goal of combining technologies is to push the development and the quality of elastic nonwovens that are attractive for the hygiene market in particular. Both companies see a large potential. To take full advantage of it, both the testing and laboratory lines of Biax-Fiberfilm in Greenville, WI, and the lines available in REICOFIL's Technology Centre in Troisdorf will be used.
With the new agreement, Biax-Fiberfilm and REICOFIL continue their cooperation started at INDEX in Geneva in 2008. Here, both companies had initially agreed on a joint development of a Lyocell meltblown line for the production of bio-degradable nonwoven fabrics.
